Christmas Edition:  Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of my readers.  I want to take a minute and let you know how much I appreciate all of you taking the time to read through my blogs/articles.  Everyday I am amazed at the viewership that my Blog gets. Thank you SO Much. My wish for this Holiday season is for my readers/community to give a little bit back.  I am challenging each and every one of you to help out someone less fortunate than you this Holiday season.  It can be a small as cooking a meal for the senior citizen living next door to you.  It could be donating clothes to a charity.  It could be paying for the groceries of the person behind you at the grocery store.  This is a challenge!  I look forward to hearing your ideas and stories about giving back.  Thank you again.

Now let’s get down to business.  Here are my top 3 running backs for week 16.

  1.  Ezekiel Elliott  Seahawks vs Cowboys  —  Zeke Elliott is returning from a 6 week suspension.  Zeke will be facing a beat – up Seahawks front 7.  On the season Seahawks are the middle of the pack in stopping the run.  They allow 112 rushing yards per game.  Zeke has fresh legs and is out to prove the NFL was wrong to suspend him.  I will take a pissed off Zeke versus anyone.  He is a special talent at the running back position.  He possess break-away speed, agility, hurdlers jumps, stiff arms, toughness and great pass protection skills.  This will be a huge boost to the Cowboys offense.  I’m riding with Zeke all day on Sunday!
  2. Kareem Hunt  Dolphins vs Chiefs  —  Kareem has been on fire lately.  It was only a matter of time until the Chiefs figured out that Kareem is the key to this offense.  In the past 2 games Kareem has been averaging 24 carries for 135 yards with 1 td and 5 receptions for an extra 35 yards.   I believe going forward we can expect at least 20 carries for over 100 yards and sprinkle in a few catches for 40-50 yards and possible a touchdown or 2. Chiefs need to win in order to stay in the playoff race, riding Kareem Hunt to victory is a smart plan.
  3.   Dion Lewis   Bills vs Patriots  —  Dion Lewis has received double digit carries in 8 of the last 9 games.  He has been the most reliable and most explosive of the running backs in New England.  Recently his stable mate, Rex Burkhead injured his knee and is expected to miss this game.  This injury points to Dion Lewis getting more touches against a defense that has allowed the most touchdowns and second most rushing yards to running backs.  Temper your expectations though.  Head coach Bill Belichick hates fantasy football and like to go against the expectations of analyst.  However I like Dion Lewis to lead this team in carries and grab a few receptions along the way.  Start him.

Alex Collins  Colts vs Ravens  — Alex Collins has been a very good find for the Baltimore Ravens.  He was originally drafted in the 5th round of the 2016 draft by the Seahawks. 1 year later they released him, he then found his way onto the Ravens practice squad.  Some injuries struck the position and Alex Collins stepped into a starting role.  He has been solid the entire season.  He garners about 15 carries a game at almost 5 yards per attempt.  He has 5 touchdowns in the last 5 games.  This week he is facing a Colts defense that is the 4th worst at stopping the run.  This is a great match up for this guy.

Joe MIxon  Lions vs Bengals  —  Joe Mixon was a highly touted running back coming out of college but that talent has yet to materialize in the NFL.  He has averaged just over 3 yards per carry on the season.  He has only gone for more than 50 yards rushing 3 times this season.  Mixon is also working his way back from a concussion. He lost 2 offensive lineman to injuries this week.  And Giovani Bernard is still there to steal touches away from Mixon. There are too many factors working against Joe Mixon.  I will look elsewhere for running back production.
