The One about Tight ends for week 17

For those of you that don’t know this title is in reference to a little show called “Friends”. My girlfriend is on a netflix binge and this is the show she is currently engrossed in. I never realized that each and every episode is titled “The One about……”. For those that have never seen the show. It is a sitcom about a group of friends that live in Manhattan. Basically 3 guys and 3 girls become best friends and hilarity ensues. Misadventures and love interest is the theme of the show. It s a good show with lots of laughs and crazy situations. Check it out if you have never seen it. And now…..

The One About Tight ends for Week 17

Just a quick reminder.  I will not be including the top 3 tight ends in the NFL.  That list includes: Rob Gronkowski, Zach Ertz, or Travis Kelce.  It ‘s not that I don’t like them, but everybody already knows to play them regardless of their match up.

Delanie Walker vs Jaguars   Delanie Walker has become the de facto #1 wide receiver for the Tennessee Titans.  Walker has seen at least 3 catches in every game this year.  Marcus Mariota the Titans quarterback has struggled this season but that hasn’t stopped Delanie Walker from a very good season.  Walker is currently 4th in reception and also 4th in yardage for the tight end position.  The Jaguars might concede this game so be careful in starting players from either side.  I like Delanie Walker in this match up regardless of the Jaguars plans.

Eric Ebron vs Packers  Eric Ebron has been on a tear lately.  In the second half of the season Ebron has 6 games of at least 4 receptions.  Since week 11 he has 32 receptions for 331 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Packers secondary has been in shambles. I believe Matt Stafford and Ebron can continue finding each other in the passing game.  Ebron is my pick here.

Jack Doyle vs Texans  Jack Doyle has the 2nd most receptions at the tight ends position.  Currently he has 76 receptions for 652 yards and 3 touchdowns.  That is solid production coming from a depleted position.  Doyle has been Jacoby Brissett security blanket.  The Texans secondary has been ravaged by injuries.  That makes any of the pass catchers for the Colts a good start for week 17.

Charles Clay  vs Dolphins  Charles Clay leads the Buffalo BIlls in receiving yards and is 2nd in receptions despite missing some time with an injury.  The last time these two teams faced each other Clay posted 5 reception for 68 yards. A solid showing.  I really like this game for fantasy players.  Both the Bills and Dolphins have middle of the pack defenses.  I think each team can take advantage of that and be successful on the offensive side of the ball.  A solid sleeper here.

Jimmy Graham  vs Cardinals  Jimmy Graham has been a very good tight end for 9 seasons. However this season he has struggled to make an impact.  This season Graham has 10 games of 4 or less catches.  His season high in yardage is 72, way back in week 3.  The one saving grace with Graham is that he has scored 10 touchdowns.  In fact, the last time he faced the Cardinals he collected 6 catches for 27 yards and 2 touchdowns.  The Cardinals will remember that and focus on stopping Jimmy Graham near the goal line.  I believe that you can find better streamers at the tight end position.
